Over the western hills of the Napa Valley lies the smaller and some even say “friendlier” food and wine destination, the Sonoma Valley. Sonoma’s diversity extends from the top of San Pablo Bay in Carneros, north to the border of Mendocino County, and west to the drama of the wild Pacific Coast. The Sonoma Valley is one of California’s exclusive food and wine regions.
Little Red Barn Food & Wine was founded on the principle that good food can and should be enjoyed by everyone. Food is culture and because of our need to balance work, family and recreation, we often forget about the importance of good food and the shared meal.
The mission of Little Red Barn Food & Wine is to teach students that to prepare a first class meal using fresh, local ingredients need not be difficult or time consuming. The dishes that students learn to prepare focus on fresh seasonal organic produce and proteins. The cooking events are held at my little red barn located on Sonoma Mountain between the town of Sonoma and Glen Ellen. Classes are informal and designed to be a fun and rewarding experience. It is our goal that each student will end the day with something new to put in his / her cooking repertoire.
Classes are small (maximum 8 people) and after you’ve prepared your dish, you will take your plate to the communal table on the back deck where an appropriate local wine will be paired with your masterpiece!
